Light Fantastic at Shrewsbury Green Fayre

Date:
5 Jul 2008 - 10:00 - 5 Jul 2008 - 16:00

The Light Fantastic Trailer didn't have such a long journey this week as we were at the Shrewsbury Green Fayre; held at the Shropshire Wildllife Trust on Abbey Foregate. The Green Fayre is a well established and popular event and a part of the Shrewsbury Summer Season, and a highly appropriate booking for Light Fantastic. This event saw the first public outing of our brand new energy bike, which was particularly popular with the younger visitors to the event.

Light Fantastic at Meole Brace Science College

Date:
28 Jun 2008 - 12:00 - 28 Jun 2008 - 17:00

The latest stop on the Light Fantastic Trailer tour of the Marches was the Science and Maths fun day at Meole Brace Science College. I've never seen the words 'Maths' and 'Fun' so close together, but the day was very successful with plenty of visitors to the college. Despite a wealth of attractions including a large rocket on the back of a truck, a room of exotic animals and an evocatively smelly chemistry lab we had a lot of interest and several people played the giant 'Carbon Countdown' game.

25 Jun 2008 - 10:00 - 25 Jun 2008 - 16:00

It has been a busy month for the Light Fantastic trailer (and the Carbon Forum staff); Wednesday 25th June saw us roll up outside the offices of Bridgnorth District Council where we met many of the council staff and one or two members of the Bridgnorth Police. During the course of the day we gave out 300 high efficiency light bulbs and 160 powerdowns which together will deliver lifetime savings of just over 44 tonnes of CO2 and £36,646.
