Last Tuesday, 15th of May I travelled to London to attend a combined meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Peak Oil & Gas (APPGOPO) and the All Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group (APPCCG) held in Committethe House of Commons. The subject of the meeting was 'Becoming a Low Carbon Society'.

I love bikes. No I LOVE bikes. I just received my new bike that I got through the cycle to work scheme. Its a thing of pure beauty. Although I cycle a lot, I'm going to cycle even more now. The cycle to work scheme enables you to buy a bike through your employer (plus kit such as locks, helmets, lights and reflective gear). The upshot of it is that you get it about half price. Its sunny, get on your (new) bike.

As part of the events to mark World Environment Day the Light Fantastic mobile exhibition will be at the Square in Shrewsbury, with games, activities, information, free giveaways and more, all on the theme of low energy lighting

We will be taking the Light Fantastic mobile exhibition to the Staffordshire County Show; this will be the first time we have taken the exhibition out anywhere, so it is an exciting event for Carbon Forum.

Earlier this year my daughter and I took part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch. Over a 2 day period the Great British Public were asked to count the largest number of each species of (garden) bird that they saw over the period of an hour. We went for the warmer option of the living room window, besides we seemed to be keeping them at bay when we ventured out!
